The Kings Of The Coast (KOTC) was established in 2006 by Jeremy Cohen from The MOB (Macs Own Board riders).The idea behind the contest was to involve surfers from a ‘whole’ boarding club in a team competition, not just 5 surfers likemost team surfing events. The Kings of the Coast used 20 surfers from each club.

The Queens Of The Coast (QOTC) was introduced by NSB in the 2018 KOTC at North Shelly Beach and included 5Open women surfers taking the event to a total of 25 surfers per club from u14’s to over 55’s.

The KOTC is owned and run by the boardriding clubs of the Central Coast. Each year the contest is hosted by adifferent club. This allows the venue and home advantage to be shared around. The KOTC is not just about your elite guys and girls but the local surfers who turn up and compete and support their local board riding clubs. It is therefore inthe spirit of the competition that all surfers must be current members of a club and regular competitors in their club’s boardriding competitions. To win a KOTC event means that your club has proven its strength over all age divisions.
